WHAT IS
WHO ARE WE
Bloom Zine Collective is a volunteer-based passion project created by and for Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (QTBIPOC). There is a need for safer spaces that center QTBIPOC in what is widely known as “British Columbia''. Our zine seeks to reclaim our stories, our joy, and our futures. Race and gender must be viewed through an intersectional lens to acknowledge all identities that intersect with race and gender, including but not limited to class, disability, geographical location, and body size. Bloom honours liberation by celebrating and amplifying the art and stories of people who are oppressed by the violent colonial systems in our society.
Bloom Zine Collective works on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples.
